Garbage & recycling pick up is Fridays.  Please have both to curb by 6:00 AM.  If a holiday occurs during the week, not Sunday, then the pick up will not be until Saturday that week only.  If you need a white appliance picked up, you need to call Allied and schedule that.

 

Please leave the recycle bin in the house or apartment when you move.  If there is not one, please contact the village clerk.

Ordinances:

 

Winter Parking  

In addition to the foregoing regulations and restrictions, from November 1through April 30 of each year from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM there shall be alternate side parking on all streets within the Village, except on the south side of Splinter Avenue from the water tower driveway east to the intersection with South Main Street, for the two days next following any snowfall.  “Alternate side parking,” as used herein, means parking on the sides of streets which have even-numbered house numbers on even days of each month and on the sides of streets which have odd-numbered house numbers on the odd days of each month.  This subsection does not apply to any street which has other parking restrictions in effect.

 

PET LITTERING

                   (4)     Pet Littering.  No person owning, keeping, possessing or harboring an animal as a pet shall allow such animal to soil, defile, defecate on or commit any nuisance on private or public property.  The person responsible for such animal must immediately remove and dispose of all feces so deposited in a sanitary manner.

 

KEEPING VICIOUS DOGS PROHIBITED

          (1) No person shall keep, harbor or possess within the Village of Dickeyville a pit bull, Rottweiler or other vicious dog.

(2)   Definitions.

a.      Vicious Dog.  Any dog with a propensity, tendency or disposition to attack unprovoked human beings or domestic animals; any dog, which, without provocation, attacks or bites or has attacked or bitten a human being or domestic animal; any dog owned or harbored primarily or in part for the purpose of dog fighting; any dog trained for dog fighting; any dog which the Chief of Police, after a careful investigation, has declared to be a vicious dog.

b.     Pit Bull.  Any pit bull terrier, which shall be defined as any American Pit Bull Terrier or Staffordshire Bull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier breed of dog or any mixed breed of dog which contains as an element of its breeding the breed of American Pit Bull Terrier or Staffordshire Bull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier or as defined or described by the American Kennel Club.  ROTTWEILER (December 12, 2007) – Any dog of the Rottweiler breed, dogs of mixed breed that are recognizably similar to a Rottweiler and any dog which has the appearance and characteristics of being predominantly of the breed of Rottweiler.

 

 

SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL       

          (1) Responsibility of Owner or Occupant.  The owner, occupant or person in charge of each and every building or structure or unoccupied lot in the Village of Dickeyville fronting or abutting any street shall clean or cause to be cleaned the sidewalk in front of or adjoining each such home, building or unoccupied lot of snow or ice to the width of such sidewalk within 72 hours after such ice has formed or after snow has ceased falling.  If the ice which has formed on any sidewalk cannot be removed within 72 hours the persons herein  referred to shall keep the same sprinkled with ashes, sawdust, sand or other abrasive material or salt.

          (2) Action to Abate Condition.  If the snow or ice has not been removed or otherwise treated on any sidewalk covered by Section (1) for more that 72 hours after such condition exists, the village may contract with appropriate persons or firms to remedy such condition.  The bill for the cost of such remediation shall be sent to the owner, occupant or person in charge of the lot abutting such sidewalk and that person shall be responsible for the payment of such charges.  If such charges are not paid by the end of the calendar year in which they are incurred the charges shall be placed on the tax rolls and become a special charge against such lot.

Section 2.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as required by law. 

 

 

 

48 Hour Parking Limit:

No person shall park, stop or leave standing any vehicle including, without limitation, trailers, campers, snowmobiles or like vehicles, whether attended or unattended, for a period of more than 48 consecutive hours on any street of the Village of Dickeyville or any Village operated parking lot in said Village.

 

OTHER VEHICLES             

           Other Vehicles. No person shall park, stop or leave standing any mobile recreational vehicle or equipment or any utility or stock trailer on any street, alley, highway, public right-of-way or Village off-street parking lot in the Village for more than 24 consecutive hours.  There must be an interval of 24 hours before such vehicle is again parked or left standing on any Village street for up to an additional 24 consecutive hours.  No person may inhabit such a unit unless a temporary visitor permit is obtained prior to such habitation.  In this subsection, “mobile recreational vehicle or equipment” means any boat, boat trailer, snowmobile, snowmobile trailer and any unit designed as temporary living quarters for recreational, camping or travel use, regardless of size or weight and including, but mot limited to, motor homes, travel trailers, pickup trucks with camping unit, pop-up camping trailers, house trailers, mobile homes, private or converted buses.  The unit may have its own automotive power or may be mounted on or drawn by an automotive vehicle.  In this subsection, “utility or stock trailer” means any type of trailer or device pulled or towed along the highway by a motor vehicle.  A temporary visitor permit may be obtained from the Police Department where there is no alternative parking available for a mobile recreational vehicle or piece of equipment or when the unit is to be inhabited.  Such permit shall be valid for a period of not more than 7 consecutive days.  The permit may be renewed up to a maximum period of 14 days in any calendar year.  Moving a parked recreational vehicle or piece of equipment or a utility or stock trailer parked on any street in the Village to another place on any street in the Village shall not interrupt the period of consecutive hours
